3. Project Groups

Climate Change
We want to raise the awareness of climate change to young people, this will affect all of us and we need to start doing our bit to make sure we have a better future.

We created a DVD which highlighted the issues of climate change and how we can all save energy. Scroll down and watch it!! or check it out on You Tube.

We are currently working on a schools project that would involve having workshop sessions in school about climate change and energy saving.

Anti Smoking & Healthy Eating
We think this a huge issue so decided to come up with our own leaflet which we felt would be simple and easy to understand, for pupils in Yeras 6-8.

We have also just launched our own being healthy DVD, which has been circulated to every school Mole Valley.

PR
We are trying to get Youth Voice well known, working on publicity, posters and contacting the press.

Sports
We are looking at ways of encouraging more young people in to sport, possible taster sessions and events which raise the profile of newer or less popular sports. Watch this space for the '72' event, a three day leisure event for young people taking place in October.

Special Projects
We are currently working with a group of young people in Capel who would like to work with the community and improve the provision for young people locally.

In September 2008 we will be beginning an anti bullying project. This will involve creating our own leaflet about bullying, aimed specifically at young people.

Bands & Live Music
Have just organised Amphishock the Battle of the Bands 2008. This will be the second battle of the bands event where local youth bands can compete. The winning band for 2008 was Kakuzi. Watch this space for deatils of bands events for next year!!!
